Book #84 -- William Shakespeare, Antony and Cleopatra, 87 pages.
Not exactly my favourite of Shakespeare's plays. In fact, I have to admit I find all the characters pretty pathetic. Does that make me a horrible English major?

givesushope It's that glorious time of year when we reunite with loved ones (we neglected all year), stuff our faces to excess, and pass out in front of the TV. Perhaps a recalibration of the thanksometer is in order. A spin-off of the popular GivesMeHope.com site, this community invites you to document moments of kindness, generosity, and pure human love in 350 words or less.

veggieslackers Despite its mainstream appeal, Thanksgiving is not for everyone. There are those struggling with food disorders, for whom this day causes endless conflict. There are the cash-challenged, who can't afford the gluttony we've grown to expect. There are the lonely, who don't have loved ones nearby. And let's not forget the vegetarians, who decry the animal cruelty. But there's one more group we often overlook: the terminally lazy! This community of lazy vegetarians offers easy recipes for an animal-friendly feast.

I, like many, watched Waters of Mars Last night. I did enjoy it, because it gave a new element of possibility to where the Doctor can go from here? It also strengthens a few of the theories I have about the series.
Quite a few have to do with Rose.
( possible spoilers from The End of Times trailer )
Then again, I am running on little sleep and have been writing too many interpretive essays, so that could also be part of the reason behind this re-emerging theory of mine.
Does anyone else have any theories which have been confirmed by the newest episode of the trailer for the next?

There's also a sugary sprinkle of mainstream movie discussions and debates on such pressing social issues as manicure styles and celebrity colonics. If you need a break from the daily grind to indulge your girlie side, this is twinkly pink on steroids.

Brand New's "The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me" album |
] |
1. Enjoying the job. If you can get paid for doing something you love, then that, in my opinion, is the biggest "dream job" qualification.
2. Getting a sense of accomplishment at work. I assume that if you're doing a job just to make some money, and you don't really feel like you're accomplishing anything while doing it [like, say, sitting in front of a computer changing all of the dates in banking software from being two-digit numbers (i.e. 98) to four-digit numbers (i.e. 2001) for the new millenium like in Office Space], and you feel like a mindless robot while at work, it won't be a thing you look forward to doing every day...
3. A comfortable work environment. If you're scared of going to work for fear of having to deal with rude, inconsiderate co-workers, or of having to sit in some uncomfortable position all day doing some repetitive task... well, that doesn't qualify as a "dream job" to me.
4. No constricting rules that rob anybody of their individuality. I know that this is a tricky one... At some places of work, dress code can be very strict and uniform, while at other jobs you could wear whatever you want and still be able to do your job well. This has to do, I think, with how people are very quick to judge. When on the job, a lot of people could be telling you that you have to do certain things to maintain "professionalism" and make sure that nobody gets a bad first impression of you, or something. This is a hard qualification to find in a lot of jobs, but if you're still able to maintain your individuality, even at work, at least to a certain extent, then that's definitely a good thing to find.
5. A good and/or fair paycheck. Ehh... You gotta pay the bills somehow.
[I kind of feel like I'm talking out of my ass, though. I've never had a real job before...]
